Update on Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino and Hotel

I WENT BACK to Harrah’s Valley River in Murphy, NC in June and had a GREAT TIME!!

THE FIRST THING I found out was that there is no COVID checkpoint driving up to the hotel parking area. This was an expected change, since the last time I was there was back in October 2020. Once in the parking area, I found that they had opened the gravel lot that had been blocked off before. If you have ever stayed at the hotel, you know that(without the gravel lot being open) it can be hard to find a spot and many people had to go with valet parking. I’m very happy that they made this change. 🙂

AT THE CHECK-IN, I was met with a smiling hotel representative asking to assist me. Check-in is always fast and easy. Then came the best surprise I could have imagined, they upgraded my room to A PREMIUM ROOM! I didn’t even have to ask. These rooms are always more spacious than the regular rooms. They have a larger bathroom, a lounge chair and a convertible couch that sleeps two. Some also include double the window views as well as a table and chairs.

ONE OF THE BEST THINGS about the rooms? THE COFFEEMAKERS ARE BACK!!! They had been removed due to the pandemic and it was pretty rough on me, but I made it through, lol.

ANOTHER BIG IMPROVEMENT!!!!!! WiFi IS NOW FREE IN ALL THE ROOMS!

Here are a few more pics of the Premium room and the views!

AS YOU CAN SEE, all rooms also include a big screen LED HDTV, under the counter refrigerator, telephone, hair dryer, clock radio with alarm, electronic safes, as well as beautiful mountain views and artwork.

MY FIRST TRIP OUT OF THE ROOM is usually down to the Landing Cafe for one of these pepperoni pizzas. Whoever makes them really knows what they’re doing!! YUM!

THE MASK REQUIREMENTS are finally gone. You will hear an announcement that they encourage you to wear one if you aren’t vaccinated, but there is absolutely no requirement. They still clean and disinfect often and you can tell they care about your safety.

THE LAUREL LOUNGE is pretty much the same as last year(post-pandemic), you still get discounted drinks with your Diamond or Seven Stars card, but still no sign of the buffet and no guarantee from the bartender that it will ever come back. The old entrance door is completely gone(just a wall now), so you enter from the high-limit gaming area. There is no card check to get in, but you need it for the discounted drinks. It’s much easier now to pop in for a drink and pop out, but I will miss the food because it was sooo good! You still have seats at the bar, but the dining room tables have been replaced by high-limit slots.

THE BOOK is the sports betting area and this is the first time I’ve been here since it opened. I didn’t make any bets because the Braves weren’t playing that night, but I plan to try it soon. Interesting fact: the two Harrah’s locations in Cherokee, NC and Murphy, NC are the only legal betting sites in the entire state of North Carolina, so I expect it to get pretty busy on big sports days.

I HAD A GREAT TIME, as I said before. I didn’t lose a dime! I played mostly video poker and had a few nice wins that allowed me to play with house money until late into the night. When I got to the end of the house money, it was past my bedtime anyway. It was a great time and all the people are helpful and nice. I can’t wait to go back and I’m actually heading back this week! 🙂 I’m due for a BIG JACKPOT, so check back next week to see if it happens. I’ll certainly be posting pics if it does! 🙂 I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Short Term Stock Winners List (3/9/21)

LTNC- LaborSmart. Making the move to hydrogen water sports drinks. Currently 3 cents, but has a cult following and could break out soon. Going to OTC Current also.

MSNVF- Mission Ready Solutions. Goverment PPE contractor. I don’t see it going anywhere but up. Will uplist when price gets a little higher.

MVMDF- Mountain Valley MD. Made a breakthrough with Covid treatment Ivermectin. The right results from some ongoing studies could make it blow up.

SSFT- SonaSoft Corp. A.I. will have a great year! Dipping lately. I’m buying!

LTNC. You Need to Know About This “Cult” Penny Stock.

Labor Smart(OTC Ticker: LTNC) has gained a cult following. Some in the following have given a price target of $5-10, which is pretty amazing since it’s currently trading around 3 cents. OTCmarkets.com describes the company as “an emerging provider of on-demand temporary labor solutions to small and medium sized businesses, with branch locations in the Southeast US”.

However, the company could be going in a new direction. They have recently starting working on beverages. They are focusing on hydrogen water which is said to have many health and performance benefits. The CEO, Ryan Schadel, recently gave up his position to Joe Pavlik who has 20 years experience in the health and fitness industry. There is also anecdotal evidence that some influential professional athletes(possibly GOATs) could be coming on board. This could explain the cult following. Also, the company has filed for OTC Current status.

Even with all these positives, reaching $10 soon would be a stretch with the current amount of shares out there(8 billion). But there’s positive news there as well. The company plans to retire 500 million shares very soon.

I hope this sheds some light on a very interesting “cult” penny stock that’s gaining popularity. I wouldn’t bet the house on it right now, but a few Benjis could turn into big gains in the near future. Be sure to do your own DD.

Harrah’s Valley River Update

Just made a trip to Valley River in Murphy and there have been some changes since the last time I was there. The changes mostly involve the Laurel Lounge. They have opened it up in more ways than one.

The Laurel Lounge

There is no one checking your card as you walk in, in fact, there is now a second entrance from the High Limit gambling area. You can come and go freely. The food bar is gone. No food is available in the lounge. The bar is still there and you still get discounted drinks just by showing your Diamond or Seven Stars card. There are now some high limit slots replacing all the tables and chairs. Seems to still close at 10 weeknights and midnight on weekends. It is definitely a change.

The Book

The Huge TV wall is up, but no one seems to know when sports gambling will be starting. Basically, no news here.

Hotel Parking

They finally opened the gravel lot for overflow parking(complete with curbs). I never could figure out why they didn’t do this years ago. We all know parking was a problem if you didn’t arrive before 5PM.

Security and Covid Measures)

Same as last time I was there. Hotel or Casino, you will get a temperature check and wristband(and mask if you need one). Coffeemakers are still absent from rooms.

Conclusion

I still had fun, but not sure how much I will like the Laurel Lounge changes. I had many good times in there the way it was.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Donations appreciated. 🙂

Stay Tuned Harrah’s Valley River Fans….

I’m heading up to check things out soon! I’ve been twice since the pandemic started. Last time was early August. At that time, still no sportsbook, Laurel Lounge closed,(getting a facelift) they are adding high limit slots to the lounge(probably in place of the buffet). Good news is, I hit a royal flush on a quarter video poker game for $1000. Nice! The Landing is only open on weekends and they have removed coffeemakers from the rooms. That’s what I found out in August. Update coming soon!

Liberal Democrat Policies That Fuel Pandemics

For the last few weeks, the world has been embroiled in an epidemic caused by the Wuhan Coronavirus. Now in the US, liberal democrats have(predictably) been quick to blame President Donald Trump for the outbreak. However, I’d like to point out some of their own policies that have unintended consequences that make this and future heath crisises much harder to avoid and mitigate. Here are those policies:

  • Forcing use of reusable shopping bags, straws, and containers
  • Open borders
  • Socialized healthcare
  • Pelosivilles(homeless camps)

Forcing use of reusable shopping bags, straws, and containers.

Forcing people to use reusable shopping bag and containers is a really good way to spread a virus, especially those viruses that live for a long time on surfaces. Using plastic or paper eliminates the threat.

Open Borders

If you have people streaming across your border as we do, you have no control over who can come in. They could be healthy or they could be carrying a highly contagious pathogen like the current coronavirus.

Socialized Healthcare

We’ve seen the highest rates of illness and death in Italy where they have a socialized healthcare system. This form of healthcare gives you little hope in a pandemic. Depending on your age, you may be told you can’t be treated due to rationing supporting younger patients and death panels.

Pelosivilles(homeless camps)

I don’t even have to explain this one. These camps were creating cases of long eradicated diseases before the pandemic even started.

These policies need to be voted out of existence before they make pandemics an everyday occurrence.

Tennessee’s New Cellphone While Driving Law Starts Today(7/1/19)

Starting today, Tennessee drivers will get a ticket for holding or physically supporting a cellphone while driving. Hands-free devices will be allowed as well as dash-mounted devices. If you are cited, you will be fined $50 for first offense, subsequent offense receive a $100 fine. If you are cited for the offense in a work zone or school zone while lights are flashing, the fine is $200. Now we just need a fine for putting on makeup while driving. 🙂
